Former Rosetta Stone owner fined $150

The former owner of Rosetta Stone Cafe in downtown Youngstown, which closed in August, was found guilty of disorderly conduct Friday in Mahoning County Area Court and was fined $150.

Charles Sop, 65, of Windjammer Drive in Columbiana, pleaded no contest. He was charged Oct. 7 with domestic violence after an argument with his wife, who told police they were in the middle of

divorce proceedings. According to a Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department report, Sop grabbed his wife by the arm and threatened her at their Caymen Bluff Road home in Canfield Township. She said she wasn’t hurt but was afraid.
