Cardinal Mooney’s varsity football game against Cincinnati Moeller on Friday at Stambaugh Stadium has been moved up to 7 p.m.

The game was originally scheduled to start at 7:30.

Tickets for Friday’s Poland at Canfield football game will be on sale through Friday in the Canfield High athletic office from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Tickets are also available in the Poland athletic dept. and at Trolio’s T-Shirts.

Advance general admission tickets cost $4 for students and $6 for adults.

Limited advance reserved seating is available for $8.

Undefeated Zenyatta to take on boys again

Zenyatta will put her 19-0 record on the line when she defends her title in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, going against the boys for the second consecutive year.

Zenyatta was pre-entered in the Classic, along with 13 others, including Preakness winner Lookin At Lucky and runner-up First Dude, Whitney winner Blame and Woodward and Metropolitan Mile winner Quality Road.

Final entries and the post-position draw will be Tuesday.

Zenyatta has won all five of her starts this year and will be looking to end her spectacular career with a victory in the 11/4-mile Classic.

UM’s Toussaint drove on suspended license

ANN ARBOR, Mich.

Michigan tailback Fitz Toussaint has been cited for driving with a suspended license.

The redshirt freshman, a graduate of Liberty High, has an arraignment this morning in Ann Arbor district court.

Court records say University of Michigan police ticketed him Oct. 8, the night before the Michigan-Michigan State game.

School spokesman Dave Ablauf tells The Detroit News that football coach Rich Rodriguez “is aware of it and has handled the situation” with Toussaint.

Toussaint missed the first three games with a knee injury, then carried twice against Bowling Green before injuring his shoulder. He’s missed the last three games and is expected to be out a while longer.

Tower topples killing student at practice

SOUTH BEND, Ind.

A Notre Dame student died Wednesday after the tower from which he was filming football practice fell over.

The university said the accident occurred at the LaBar Practice Complex. The 21-year-old man was transported to a South Bend hospital, where he died.

Notre Dame will not identify the student until family members are notified.

Winds in the area were gusting to 51 mph at the time, according to the National Weather Service.

Successor to Paul the Octopus is French

OBERHAUSEN, Germany

The successor to the World-Cup predicting Paul the Octopus is French.

Seal Life aquarium spokeswoman Tanja Munzig says the new octopus, also to be called Paul, was born near the southern French city of Montpellier. He will be presented to the public next week.

The English-born Paul died of natural causes in his tank Tuesday at the aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. He gained fame by predicting all seven of Germany’s World Cup wins and Spain’s victory over the Netherlands in the final.
