Cardinal Mooney 4, Liberty 0

LIBERTY

Senior Ryan Yavorsky scored three goals to lead Mooney in a Division II district semifinal. The Cardinals (7-10-1) advanced to the district final for the 10th straight year and will face Niles at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bo Rein Stadium. Last season the Cardinals set a state record with their ninth straight district title, eclipsing Cincinnati Madeira’s mark of eight. Sophomore Byron Abrigg scored the other goal for the Cardinals, while junior Clay Hicks had two assists and sophomore Pat Price had the other two. Junior Dalton Smith made two saves and senior David Perry had one. For Liberty, senior Ryan Halicki had 10 saves.

Niles 3, Lakeview 1

CORTLAND

C.J. Cicero, Justin Miller and Caleb Beeler scored for Niles, which took a 3-0 halftime lead. Nico Martin, Mike Rohland and Keir Macmillan had the assists, while Noah Arvin made seven saves. Ryan Ellis scored for Lakeview.

Marlington 4, Southeast 1

ALLIANCE

Details of this game were not reported to The Vindicator. Marlington advanced to play Alliance in Saturday’s district final.

DIVISION III

Warren JFK 3, Crestview 2, 2 OT

BOARDMAN

Eric Bofencamp scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime period to lift JFK in a district semifinal. Jeff Croyts and Frank LaRock also scored for the Eagles (10-5-3), who will meet Badger in Saturday’s district final at 3 p.m. at Badger High. Tanner Goss and Evan Forney scored for the Rebels (11-5-2), while Derek Bable had an assist and 10 saves. Michael Fredericka had 11 saves for Kennedy.

REGULAR SEASON

Hickory 8, Kennedy Catholic 0

HERMITAGE, PA.

Allison Richards scored seven goals for playoff-bound Hickory (13-2-1), while Allyssa McClure also scored and Morgan McBride had the shutout. Sarah Ritchey stopped 15 shots for KC (8-10, 2-2), which set a school record for wins in a season. JVs: 1-1.
