POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:
GIRARD
Oct. 23
Burglary: To a residence in the 40 block of East Second Street. Stolen were a 32-inch flat-screen TV, $90, an Xbox system and three video games.
Menacing: An East Main Street man told police a juvenile threatened to beat up his son.
Oct. 24
Theft: A $170, 26-inch bicycle was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Mosier Road.
Aggravated menacing: Edward C. Long II, 28, of 1148 E. Park Drive, Brookfield, faced charges of aggravated menacing and telephone harassment after his former girlfriend alleged Long had threatened her life and to kill her current boyfriend.
Domestic violence: Anthony J. Santisi, 23, of 507 Dearborn Ave., Girard, was charged with making domestic-violence threats after his wife alleged Santisi had damaged property and made threats.
Criminal mischief: An East Prospect Street woman said juveniles threw rocks and other items at her home.
Criminal mischief: Objects were tossed at a residence in the 500 block of Forsythe Avenue.
Theft: Two $20 Halloween decorations were missing from a yard in the 500 block of Forsythe Avenue.
Oct. 25
Criminal mischief: Someone used a marker to write an obscenity on a vehicle in the 200 block of East Liberty Street.
Criminal mischief: Several people damaged a stop sign near Plymouth and Lorain streets.
LIBERTY
Oct. 20
Fraud: A Warner Road man found 18 unauthorized purchases totaling $166 had been made to his account.
Fraud: A Fisher Drive man checked his account online and noticed six fraudulent transactions had been made.
Criminal damaging: Someone deliberately knocked over a plastic mailbox in the 10 block of Redfern Drive.
Criminal damaging: A mailbox was smashed in the 1300 block of Virginia Trail.
Assault: A 12-year-old girl suffered a cut near her eye after a fight at W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road.
Theft: A Belmont Avenue man reported a Roanoke, Va., man borrowed but failed to return miscellaneous photographs, documents and other items.
Child endangerment: A 5-month-old infant was hospitalized for possible smoke inhalation after three people had been injured by a firecracker in the 10 block of James Lane.
Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol handed 24-year-old Shaquitta L. Merriweather, 224 Sixth St., Campbell, to Liberty authorities. She was wanted on a warrant.
Arrest: Ryan D. Friendly, 29, of 546 Woodside Ave., Youngstown, was taken into custody at the Mahoning County jail on an outstanding warrant from the township.
Oct. 21
Arrest: Police picked up 55-year-old Henry Patterson III, 1400 Springdale Ave., Youngstown, at the county jail. Patterson was wanted by township authorities on a charge of failure to appear in court.
Oct. 22
Theft: A woman stole four eyeglass frames from Belmont Eye Clinic, 3020 Belmont Ave.
Burglary: Occurred in the 1200 block of Rose Drive through a side door. Five prescription medications were missing.
Recovered property: A debit card was found in the Liberty Plaza parking lot.
Recovered property: A Logan Way Drive man found on his property a 21-speed bicycle, three rubber cones and a sign.
Oct. 24
Arrest: A traffic stop near Shannon Road led to the arrest of 26-year-old Anthony R. Jackson, 1142 N. Highland Ave., Girard, on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and a traffic offense.
Theft: Police charged VenessaJ. Briggs, 54, of 14 Holly Drive, Liberty, with theft and criminal trespassing after police said she rode to Goodwill Industries Inc., 2747 Belmont Ave., on a bicycle and stole items from a drop-off shed. Briggs also was wanted on two warrants from the township.
Arrest: William F. Crenshaw, 25, of 660 Fourth St., Warren, was arrested on a township warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.
Breaking and entering: A man on a bicycle broke into a fenced-in supply yard at Valley Electrical Consolidated Inc., 977 Tibbetts-Wick Road, then fled.
Oct. 25
Domestic violence: Police charged John P. Stewart, 32, of 2722 Shirley Road, Youngstown, with the crime after his sister, of Euclid Boulevard, alleged he had punched her in the face during an argument.
Theft: A Craig Lane woman told officers a man refused to return a camera she was trying to sell.
HUBBARD
Oct. 19
Theft: A woman reported the theft of yard signs near Main Street and Belle Vista Avenue.
Possible theft: A worker for Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St., reported a woman was suspected in a shoplifting situation.
Menacing: An East Liberty Street woman said her husband threatened her.
Oct. 20
Theft: A woman discovered money missing from her purse at a West Liberty Street fast-food restaurant.
Oct. 22
Assault: A Youngstown-Hubbard Road male reported having been in an altercation in the 500 block of West Liberty Street.
Fraud: An Elizabeth Street man reported someone took money from his checking account without permission.
Oct. 24
Burglary: To a residence in the 40 block of School Street, where items were removed from a purse.
