Planes bump at Seattle-Tacoma airport; no injuries

SEATAC, Wash. (AP) — An Alaska Airlines jet pushing back from the terminal at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport bumped into another Alaska jet, and passengers from the two planes were evacuated as a precaution.

Airport spokesman Perry Cooper says no injuries have been reported. He says the winglet of the backing jet touched the rear horizontal stabilizer of the other plane that was still at its gate at the opposite concourse. Police and fire crews responded to the 7:15 a.m. Wednesday incident.

Cooper says he has had no word on any damage to either plane, both Boeing 737s. Passengers on the plane that had left its gate were taken off by stairs brought out to the aircraft. Those on the other plane simply walked through the jetway back into the terminal.
