Ohio student swimmer struggles at practice, dies

CINCINNATI (AP) — School officials in Ohio say an 18-year-old high school swimmer struggled during practice and died at a hospital.

Sycamore Community Schools Superintendent Adrienne James tells WLWT-TV Jose Cerda Navarro was having problems in the pool on Tuesday and had further difficulties once he was out of the water. He died later at a Cincinnati hospital.

The cause of death was not immediately determined.

The student had been a member of the Sycamore High School swimming and water polo teams but was practicing Tuesday with the Cincinnati Marlins, a private swim team.
