3 juveniles to be detained in center until hearing

WARREN
Three boys are being detained in the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center after police accused one of them of pointing a BB gun at a store employee, who had accused them of stealing bottles of pop.
The boys, age 13, 15 and 16, were brought before Juvenile Magistrate Monte Horton Monday for a detention hearing at the justice center on South Main Avenue.
Horton ruled that the boys would be detained until their plea hearing in about 10 days. No date for the plea hearing has been set, and no specific charges have been filed against them.
Warren police arrested the boys Sunday evening on their bicycles near Front Street and Austin Avenue Southwest.
An employee of Red and White Market, 1104 W. Market St., said he confronted them outside the store because he had seen them putting bottles of pop in their pants.
He told police that when he asked the boys to remove the pop bottles, one of them pointed a BB gun at him and said, “Surprise.” The boys then fled, police said.
