The state Controlling Board has signed off on $490,500 in financing for Syncro Medical Innovations Inc. in Youngstown.

The funds, awarded from the Innovation Ohio Loan Fund, will be used to purchase machinery and equipment and expansion-related costs. With the project, the company would commit to creating 30 jobs and retaining four.

Syncro is working to commercialize a magnet-guided feeding tube that received federal approval in 2002.

According to documents, “The project consists of supporting the establishment of Ohio production capabilities, relocating distribution facilities to Ohio and expanding the Blue Tube product line. This project will enable Syncro to increase production and sales from 5,000 units annually to more than 25,000 units annually.”
