Boy scouts Eagle Scout ranking
Earlier this month, two Berlin Center brothers became the latest of four siblings to earn an Eagle Scout honor for conducting, overseeing and assisting with various community-service efforts. Some requirements for earning Eagle status:
Be active in the troop at least six months after achieving the rank of Life Scout.
Demonstrate adhering to the Scouting oath and laws in daily life.
Earn 21 merit badges, including ones in first aid, citizenship in the community, nation and world, personal fitness, emergency preparedness, environmental science and swimming, hiking or cycling.
While a Life Scout, plan, develop and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, school or the community.
Participate in a Scoutmaster conference.
Complete an Eagle Scout board of review.
