SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced
Commercial Intertech Retirees will meet at noon Tuesday at St. Mark’s Fellowship Hall, 3560 Logan Way, Youngstown. Lou Pizzuto will preside, and Gloria Wielbruda and Roberta Shick will give reports. Rick Otterson will speak about insurance. There will be a bucket auction. Luncheon hostesses will be Wielbruda and Lynn Arquilla. All retirees are welcome.
Erie-Mahoning Valley Railroad Association will meet at noon Tuesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Reports will be given, and birthdays will be recognized. All railroad retirees and their spouses are welcome.
Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Center, 16 N. State St. The board will meet at 10:30 a.m. Reservations for the Christmas party to be Dec. 8 at Amen Corner will be taken. The cost is $15. Members are reminded to take cans of fruit for the Emmanel Center Thanksgiving Day baskets. Halloween bingo will be played.
Liberty Friends will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Presbyterian Church for cards, fellowship and games. Take a sack lunch; coffee will be provided. Guests are welcome.
Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 10 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. The program will include a representative from STRS discussing significant issues facing our retirement system, the presentation of MRTA scholarships to four YSU senior education majors, and special recognition of our veterans. Nonperishable goods, current magazines and paperback books will be collected. All area retired teachers are invited. To make a reservation, contact Cherly Fell at 330-533-4535 by Nov. 3.
Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Pat Perio will give the devotions. There will be a pizza party at noon. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. Packard Electric Retirees will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Local 717 Union Hall, Warren Commerce Park, 2950 Sferra Ave. Members are asked to take a labeled covered dish and table service. There will be no speaker. Nomination of officers is on the agenda.
Park Vista Retirement Community, 1216 Fifth Ave., will meet at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Gathering Room. Speaking on her vision for the future of Youngstown State University will be Dr. Cynthia Anderson, YSU president. A continental breakfast will be served. Reservations are required by Wednesday by calling 330-746-2944, ext. 1552.
St. Christine Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the parish center with Laura Dulay presiding. Reports will be given by Mary Jo Theis and Carol McClain. Pizza will be served by Theresa Vivacqua and her committee. There will be attendance prizes, a 50-50 raffle, cards and bingo.
Sts. Peter and Paul Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ukrainian Center with Ann Smith presiding. Pat Hoffman and Laura Dulay will give reports, and Ann Baginy, Mary Soltis, Ann Watson and Eleanor Hanley will serve lunch. There will be no meetings in November and December.
