YSU LIVE | Penguins lose 30-20

The YSU football team lost to South Dakota State 30-20 Saturday, its fourth straight loss.

The Penguins are 3-5 and 1-4 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Peter Reifenrath made a 26-yard field goal on the second play of the quarter after SDSU's Aaron Rollin dropped a touchdown pass on third down.

The Jackrabbits ended any lingering suspense when Rollin caught a 41-yard TD pass on third-and-19, turning a simple inside slant into the game-clinching score with 8:35 left.

YSU struck back three minutes later with a 15-yard TD pass from Kurt Hess to Ely Ducatel. Hess ran in the two-point conversion to make it 30-20 with 5:34 left.

Eric Wolford opted to try an onside kick but it was unsuccessful.
