YSU LIVE | Penguins trail 20-12 after third quarter

The YSU football team trails South Dakota State 20-12 in the third quarter of Saturday's game at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.

Stephen Blose made a 19-yard field goal with 8:19 left to cap a 16-play, 70-yard drive that stalled at the SDSU 2. YSU has a third-and-inches at the Jackrabbits' 1 and could have still gotten a first down but Jamaine Cook was stuffed for a 1-yard loss.

Penguins coach Eric Wolford briefly considered going for it, but ultimately went for the field goal, burning a timeout in the process.

SDSU added a field goal of its own, a 42-yarder by Peter Reifenrath, with 4:19 left in the quarter.
