The majority of the funds were realized from the club’s annual Turkey Trot, a two-mile and 5-mile run that takes place each year on Thanksgiving Day.

Receiving checks for various amounts were representatives from the following organizations:

Kent State University Trumbull Campus, $2,100.

Warren YMCA, $1,000.

Greater Western Reserve Council of Boy Scouts of America, $1,000.

First Book-Trumbull County, $1,000.

Camelot Center,$1,000.

Howard Agueda, club president, expressed his gratitude to the community for its continuing support of the fundraising efforts, especially the Turkey Trot. He noted that proceeds from the events made it possible for the club to donate more than $10,000 to local organizations and their service projects.

Established in 1920, the Warren Kiwanis Club meets from noon to 1 p.m. each Thursday at the Buena Vista Caf . Visitors are welcome.
