Stadium Drive welcomes new school nurse

Stadium Drive Elementary has added another faculty member to its list — school nurse Cindy McPhee.

McPhee, who is a native of Canfield, attended Bowling Green State University and Youngstown State University where she became a registered nurse. Prior to Stadium Drive, McPhee has worked in the operating room, outpatient centers and ambulatory centers. She decided it was time for a change.

“I thought it was a good opportunity for me to set my focus to something that I have never been able to try,” she said. “I have always loved kids.”

McPhee currently resides in Ellsworth with husband, Mike. They own a farm where they raise purebred cattle, horses and donkeys which keep her busy when she is not at the school.

McPhee, who works part-time, is at the school daily from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. She said the schedule revolves around the school’s gym and recess hours. She is excited to be a part of the Stadium Drive family.

“I am enjoying being the school nurse immensely,” McPhee said.
