Irish juniors seeking new members

Neighbors | Submitted.The new members of the Golden Rose Queen of Ireland LAOH Division 6 got acquainted tossing  the Ireland "Counties" soccer ball to each other at the Sept. 16 open house. .They gave their name, age, school and read one of Ireland's county names.

The Golden Rose Queen of Ireland LAOH Division 6 of Mahoning County hosted an open house for prospective members Sept. 16 at the Hibernian Hall in Boardman. The new members were able to get acquainted and were officially welcomed.

The next Junior meeting is planned for Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the Juniors will begin lessons on their new tin whistles.

The Juniors plan to participate in Ethnic Day at Holy Family Parish Nov. 21. They will perform an Irish dance and sell hand-colored note cards and homemade Soda Bread.

The December meeting is devoted to service projects. The Juniors will sing and dance at area nursing homes before enjoying their holiday treats and completing a scrapbook page on the theme of “Keep Christ in Christmas.”
