Louis out: Junior cornerback Randy Louis will miss Saturday’s game with a shoulder injury and freshman Jamarious Boatwright will make his first career start in his place. The Penguins are already without senior safety Andre Elliott (stinger) and sophomore tackle D.J. Main (foot). Elliott and Main are both out for the season.
On record: Saturday, senior WR Dominique Barnes tied Kyle Smith’s school record for consecutive games with a catch with 30. He also moved into fourth place on the career receptions list with 136. Trent Boykin and Rick Shepas are tied for second with 150. Jim Ferranti is first with 186. Barnes also ranks 10th in career receiving yards with 1,618 (Don Zwisler is ninth with 1,668), fifth in career kickoff returns with 48 (Dave Roberts is fourth with 50) and fourth in career kickoff return yards with 1,008 (Andre Coleman is third with 1,672).
This and that: Stephen Blose extended his school record for consecutive PATs to 55. ... YSU tied the school record with 32 first downs against Western Illinois. The Penguins also had 32 against Liberty in 1989. ... Also against Western Illinois, WR Ely Ducatel caught a career-high six passes, RB Jamaine Cook had a career-best 30 carries, TB Adaris Bellamy scored a career-high three TDs and QB Kurt Hess had a career-high 38 yards rushing. ... Cook needs 108 yards to reach 1,000 for his career.
