Kablan’s hat trick lifts Ursuline

VIENNA

Kevin Kablan scored three goals to lead the Ursuline High boys soccer team to a 4-0 win over Mathews in a Division III sectional semifinal Tuesday at Mustangs Stadium.

Sean Coffey had the other goal for the Irish (7-8-1), who will play at South Range at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Mike Vanes had two assists and Tyler Stimpert one, while Robert Marsch (one save), Zak Freer (one) and Alex Myers (two) combined on the shutout.

Cody Moyer had 10 saves for the Mustangs (7-8).

Heartland Christian 5, East Palestine 0

COLUMBIANA

Daniel Walsh and Sam Flynn each scored two goals while Christian Stryffler had the other for Heartland Christian (11-4). Stryffler and Dillon Light had assists while Owen Stryffler and Drew Fountain combined for 12 saves.

For the Bulldogs, Cody Stewart and Mark Ortega were the goaltenders.

Heartland Christian advanced in the Div. III tournament to play at Crestview on Saturday at 3 p.m.

On Monday, Chase Sawyer scored twice for Boardman, while Alex Thomas, Matt Smaldino, Cameron Broyles Sam Cervone, Christian Silvestri, Ziare Morrison, Nico DiIanni and Chris Tokarsky all had one.
