Fitch falls in Associated Press poll

The curious case of the Associated Press high school football poll continued on Monday, when Austintown Fitch (8-0) fell a spot, to No. 9, in the Division I rankings despite a 38-point victory.

The poll, of course, has no bearing on the Falcons’ playoff chances, which are almost secured.

Fitch, which travels to Lake for a Federal League game on Friday night, is one of six area schools in the top 10 of the six divisions.
