‘Girl Who Played With Fire’ screening
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.
The Jake Erhardt International Film Series will show the Swedish film “The Girl Who Played with Fire” at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of Westminster College’s McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public. A short introduction will be given before the screening, and a discussion will follow. The 2009 film is based on the second novel in Stieg Larson’s trilogy. It is not intended for children.
Open-mic comedy

The Youngstown Comedy Syndicate will have a free open mic at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at University Pizzeria, 133 Lincoln Ave. Those wishing to perform are encouraged to sign up in advance by e-mailing ytowncomedy@gmail.com.
The scheduled list of comedians includes Adam Blair, Erik Cribley, Jason Delfosse, Shane Herman and Jason Howell. Dave Biscella, Jim Cibella, Matt Liller and Ric Panning of the Reverse Cowboy Comedy Troupe will also perform.

The Dana Symphony Orchestra, directed by John Wilcox, will perform in concert at 8 p.m. next Monday in the Ford Family Recital Hall at the DeYor Performing Arts Center, downtown.
