President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have arrived in Cleveland for their first joint campaign appearance since the 2008 presidential race.
Air Force One arrived at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport amid near-perfect fall weather this afternoon.
The Obamas are headed to a fundraising event in a swanky Cleveland suburb for Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland. He’s trailing Republican challenger John Kasich in the polls.
Judi Naft lives near the fundraiser location and had camped out along the motorcade route. She says Obama hasn’t had enough time to revive the economy.
But she and her husband, Manny Naft, doubt that the president’s visit will turn things around for the incumbent governor.
The Obamas will travel to Columbus for two evening appearances, including a nighttime rally at Ohio State University.
