YSU LIVE | Penguins lead 10-7 after first quarter

The YSU football team leads Western Illinois 10-3 after the first quarter of Saturday night's game at Hanson Field.

Stephen Blose made a 35-yard field goal on the game's opening drive. YSU drove 65 yards in nine plays.

Western Illinois responded immediately, with Matt Bar hitting Terriun Crump for a 22-yard TD pass with 10:03 left to cap a 74-yard, seven-play drive.

YSU then drove to the WIU 1, going for it on fourth down, where Adaris Bellamy was stuffed just inches away from the goal line.

After forcing a punt, YSU QB Kurt Hess gave the Penguins a lead with a 4-yard TD run with 31 seconds left. The scoring drive was seven plays, 54 yards.
