YOUNGSTOWN
The Mahoning County Recycling Division will have two electronic equipment recycling drives later this month. The first will be from 9 a.m. to noon next Saturday at the Berlin Township building on U.S. Route 224. The second will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 at Gate 3 of the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Accepted free of charge will be unwanted computers, printers, keyboards, table-top fax machines and copiers, cell phones, telephones, microwaves, stereos and DVD or VCR units. There is a $5 fee for all computer monitors; and fees for TV sets range from $5 to $25. Only cash is accepted.
Lane restrictions
NORTH JACKSON
Interstate 76 westbound, just west of Bailey Road in Jackson Township. will have various daily lane restrictions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pavement repairs next week.
Until further notice, the entrance ramp from Bailey Road to I-76 westbound is closed through late October. The detour is Bailey to Mahoning Avenue to state Route 534 to I-76.
The $500,000 project by the Ohio Department of Transportation is scheduled to be complete by the end of this month.
Christmas aid

Christmas application sign-ups for aid will be at Catholic Charities Regional Agency, 175 Laird Ave. N.E., from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 25 through 29.
There also will be sign-ups for working families only from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25.
Applicants must have photo identification and Social Security cards for adults, proof of income and receipts for paid bills. Medical card or birth certificates and Social Security cards must be provided for all children living in the home. Social Security cards must be provided for all other persons in the home.

Recognition
LEETONIA
The Cherry Valley Coke Ovens will receive another recognition of their importance in the growth of America’s industry.
ASM International in Geauga County, which has members worldwide that deal with all types of industrial materials, will donate a commemorative marker, the exact wording of which hasn’t been finalized.
The award will be presented at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at Leetonia Coke Ovens Pavilion at Main Street and Butcher Road. There will be a short program afterward at the Leetonia Community Library, 181 Walnut St.
Lions speaker
YOUNGSTOWN
Steven Sherer, past international director of the Lions Club, is the guest speaker tonight for the 90th anniversary of the Youngstown Lions Club at the Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St. Dinner will be served.
The Melvin Jones Award will be presented to a local Lions Club member for outstanding service to the organization.
