Mooney's McCarthy activated by Broncos

DENVER

Safety Kyle McCarthy, a Mooney High graduate, was signed by the Denver Broncos from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday.

McCarthy, a former Notre Dame standout, made the team this summer as an undrafted free agent and spent the first five games on the practice squad.

Denver hosts the New York Jets Sunday.
