Lloyd PTA event welcomes fall season with treats and activities
Neighbors | Sarah Foor. The students of Mrs. Marshall’s third-grade class held up the treats and toys they bought at the fall fest.
With a few dollars she saved in hand, Ashley Mickey browsed through the bake sale table to find the treat most worth her money.
The morning of the fall fest had a distinct autumn chill in the air, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of PTA members Mary Loeb (left), Ashley Hayes, JoLynn Protopapa and Stephany Darby.
The children weren’t allowed to eat their treats until the end of the day, but that didn’t stop Bailey Marenelli (left), Logan Franczkowski and Micah Dukes from smiling about their purchases.
Already showing his Austintown pride on his T-shirt, Christopher Jordon decided to show his Ohio State pride by spending his money on a Buckeye necklace.

There was a distinct autumn chill in the air Oct. 1 as the Lloyd Elementary PTA set up its Fall Fest tent on the front lawn of the school.
Fall colors and warm treats were abound in the tent, with the PTA selling mums, corn stalks and hay bales for the parents, and colorful cupcakes and cookies for the children.
“The fall fest continues to be one of our most important fundraising activities throughout the year,” said event chair Kelly Constance. “Although the funds aren’t for a specific cause this year, the money will go to a general fund that will help buy expensive books, playground equipment and fund classroom activities. It will go toward anything that will enrich the Lloyd experience.”
Parents and community members roamed through the tents to shop through a wide selection of seasonal decorations, while Lloyd classrooms were allowed through the tents one class at a time.
Although the PTA was selling Austintown T-shirts, hair accessories, and Buckeye necklaces, most of the children spent their few dollars on Halloween cookies and cupcakes.
