The community is invited to a new era in music ministry.
Canfield United Methodist Church will introduce its new Rodgers Masterpiece Signature 356 digital organ at Sunday’s 10:30 a.m. worship service.
The new organ features three manuals and pedal board controlling nearly 200 ranks of classic pipe organ voices that allow for the playing of any style of religious, classic or contemporary music. It uses Rodgers’ parallel computing architecture to digitally reproduce recorded “images” of pipe organ sound that will satisfy even the most discriminating listener.
Just as important is the speaker system which features state-of-the -art audiophile speakers with bi-amplified, multi-channel audio amplification that envelops the listener with music.
The organ’s purchase is the result of fundraising efforts organized by the congregation and generous donation from benefactor’s of the church. It is an upgrade from the $1800 pipe organ Andrew Carnegie helped the church purchase in 1909 and will honor church supporters Frank and Norma Watson.
“My enthusiasm comes from knowing that from the start, this decision was driven by what will most enhance our experience of worship in this sacred space. This instrument fills the bill – I am very pleased,” said Senior Pastor Don Christensen.
The new organ will be played by Mary Jane Chesmar each Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service. The church’s music ministry also includes an adult and children’s choir, hand bells, a praise band, soloists and other special music.
