The Canfield Dairy Queen celebrated fall with its annual Pumpkin Hunt Saturday on the Green for children up to age 10. Approximately 100 children lined up to run through the hay and look for treats.

According to owner Ronald Rapp, the Canfield Dairy Queen has held the Pumpkin Hunt for the past five years.

Dairy Queen staffers and volunteers from Rush Church, of Canfield, laid out more than 500 mini pumpkins, candy and Halloween toys on the Green. They then covered all the goodies up with hay and the children had to hunt through the hay to find their surprises.

Each mini pumpkin had a number printed on the bottom and at the end of the hunt, children were asked to check their pumpkins, as corresponding numbers were chosen at random with gift certificates for Dairy Queen treats being given away as prizes.

The 25 prizes given away included gift certificates for Blizzards, boxes of Dilly Bars, boxes of ice cream sandwiches and 8-inch ice cream cakes.

Canfield Dairy Queen coupons were also given to attendees.

“We would like to thank everyone for participating in and supporting our annual Pumpkin Hunt,” said Rapp.
