What began as free hot dogs, pumpkins and wagon rides is now a tradition that has been going strong for the past two decades.

St. Luke Parish hosted its 21st annual Harvest Day celebration Saturday. The event was sponsored by the home and school association as a fundraiser for school and parish activities. The festivities began at 5:30 p.m. and lasted until 9 p.m.

The event featured a Chinese auction, a cake baking contest, face painting, caramel apple making and a bonfire. Cookies, cake and other refreshments were donated by parish and community members.

Home and school president Michele Degla and Cheryl Angeloff organized this year’s Harvest Day. Degla said it not only serves as a fundraiser for the parish, but as a social event for families.

“It is a great way to get the school and parish together for fellowship and family fun time,” she said.
