How hard is it for an entire school to dress alike? For Boardman Glenwood Middle School, it isn’t hard at all.

The school, built in 1960, was honored Oct. 8 with a school-wide fashion statement. Students, faculty and staff members wore identical commemorative T-shirts recognizing the school’s 50th anniversary. The shirts, which were free, were distributed one week prior to the day of uniformity.

Boardman Glenwood Middle School opened in 1969 when the construction of Boardman High School made way for two middle schools, Glenwood and Center Middle School. It was originally known as Boardman Jr. High School encompassing only seventh and eighth-graders. Glenwood currently houses more than 700 students from fifth to eighth-grade.
