A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
BOARDMAN
Oct. 7
Theft: Mallory E. Hanley, 24, of 2023 Everett Ave., Youngstown, faced a felony charge, accused of stealing 23 pairs of earrings from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 1200 block of East Western Reserve Road and took parts to a race car.
Menacing: A Trenholm Road woman said her former boyfriend has sent roughly 30 unwanted and threatening text messages.
Theft: A 17-year-old Oakdale, Pa., girl was charged with stealing two pairs of women’s jeans from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: A teacher with Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., reported a cell phone stolen from her desk.
Criminal damaging: Two dents were found on a vehicle’s driver’s-side door in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Burglary: To a garage in the 7600 block of Red Fox Drive. Missing were $80 and a purse.
Oct. 8
Arrest: Authorities went to Liberty Township, where they arrested Charles Queener, no age given, 3244 Orrin Ave., Youngstown, after learning he was wanted on a probation-violation charge. Queener also was charged with assault on a police officer when, a report said, he kicked an officer during the arrest.
Drug paraphernalia: Police responding to a disturbance charged 23-year-old Joshua A. Chaibi, 6300 South Ave., Boardman, with possession of drug paraphernalia when, they said, a suspected marijuana pipe was found.
Theft: Joshua B. Flores, 20, of 28 Crescent St., Struthers, was charged in the theft of a coat from Walmart.
Theft: A New Jersey woman’s wallet was stolen at a McClurg Road business.
Stolen property: A Girard man discovered a personal check written for $157 was cashed without consent at a Market Street bank.
Robbery: A woman age 18 or 19 jumped on the back of an employee who confronted her after the theft of two pairs of pants from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd., then fled.
Menacing: A woman said that two people tried to entice her son to fight them at the Southern Park Mall.
Oct. 9
Threats: Alvin S. Katz, 49, of 7505 Jaguar Drive, Boardman, was charged with making domestic-violence threats after his wife alleged that an enraged Katz had threatened to kill her and a friend.
Theft: Several men left Steak ‘n’ Shake, 6786 Applewood Blvd., without paying $27 of a food bill.
Theft: Toothbrushes and deodorant were stolen from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant home in the 50 block of Clifton Drive and removed copper piping from the basement.
Arrest: Jasmine Molina, 27, of 3540 LaSalle Ave., Boardman, was taken into custody on a probation-violation charge.
Assault/weapon: Officers responding to a theft at Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road, charged 37-year-old Leon Reynolds, 4884 Westchester Drive, Austintown, with two counts of assaulting a police officer and one each of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Reynolds, who had a folding knife, struggled with police, spit on an officer and refused to provide proper identification, a report said.
Theft: A Boardman High School student noticed her purse missing.
Attempted robbery: An employee of Deals Nothing Over a Dollar, 225 Boardman-Canfield Road, told police that as she walked to her vehicle, a man in his 50s approached and demanded a bag that the accuser said was still in the store. The man fled on foot and she was not harmed.
Oct. 10
Assault: Authorities picked up 57-year-old Linda M. Swartzen at her residence, 7450 West Blvd., Boardman, on a warrant from Struthers, charging her.
Arrest: Police arrested 40-year-old William Johnstone Jr., 6300 South Ave., at his home. Johnstone was wanted by Struthers authorities on a probation-violation count.
Theft: A pressure washer and a hose were stolen off a truck in the 50 block of Melrose Avenue.
Theft: Two drills were stolen from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.
Criminal mischief: A car in the 900 block of Moyer Avenue was entered and tampered with.
Aggravated menacing: An employee of Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, told authorities a man followed and threatened her with a knife.
Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen at a Doral Drive store.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 100 block of Stadium Drive, from which $110 and a cell phone were stolen.
Oct. 11
Criminal mischief: Someone broke a window to a business in the 7200 block of Market Street.
Theft: Seventy-five compact discs, a CD case, an in-dash stereo and a car charger were stolen from a vehicle in the 7100 block of Trenholm Road.
Theft/vandalism: Someone broke a pole and took a glass-light globe from it at a South Avenue barber shop.
Theft: A man in his 50s stole three Bluetooth headsets from AT&T, 650 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: An obscenity was spray-painted on the side of a garage in the 200 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.
Theft: A woman in her 20s took six cosmetics items from Walmart.
Theft: A DVD player, a DVD and a global positioning system unit were taken from vehicles in the 40 block of Buena Vista Avenue.
Theft: A Macy’s employee discovered 118 articles of clothing missing from a display rack. The loss was estimated at $10,283.
Harassment: A Trenholm Road woman reported getting several unwanted calls.
Attempted auto theft: An Auburn Hills Drive woman told police someone had tried to steal her 1997 Oldsmobile Delta 88.
