Here are some tips for Congress
We are about to have elec- tions, and there are many things to consider in making up our minds as to who to elect to Congress, and, as far as I am concerned, the present incumbents are part of the establishment.
According to an e-mail I received, Congress has had members guilty of spousal abuse, fraud, writing bad checks, directly or indirectly bankrupted at least two businesses, done time for assault, cannot get credit cards due to bad credit, some have been arrested on drug related charges and drunken driving. Congress has the lowest approval of any entity of government. Now is the time when Americans should join together to reform Congress — the entity that represents us.
Here are some critical items that congressional and senatorial candidates must consider:
In addition to ethics, Congress should be concerned with border patrol, term limits, a Social Security Tax that is the same value for every wage earner and for the same length of time in a year for everyone, and, of course, immigration.
In so far as the Social Security tax is concerned, at the present rate, the millionaire pays his tax off in 5.5 weeks and his tax amounts to 0.0066 percent of his income, while a person who earns $10,000 a year pays 6.2 percent of his income for a whole year. This is not fair by any stretch of the imagination, further, every wage earner, including Congress, should be on Social Security.
