Boardman beats Salem; Hubbard ‘digs’ win

BOARDMAN
Stephanie Sfara had 11 points, 18 kills and 12 digs to lead the Boardman High volleyball team to a four-set win over Salem on Wednesday. Scores were 20-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-11.
Kayleigh Lipke added 11 points, nine kills and 11 blocks and Amanda Volosin had eight points, eight kills, two blocks, eight digs and 21 assists for Boardman (17-7).
For Salem (15-5), Mariah Halleck had 12 kills, Alexis Smith had three points, eight kills and three blocks and Becca Devlin had five kills and three blocks.

HUBBARD
Senior Dawn Lingenfelter, a Cleveland State recruit, had 14 digs to reach 1,000 for her career, senior Haley Turner had six kills, two blocks, 13 points and seven aces, senior Shelby Ditman had 14 assists and senior Jillian Hinkle had five kills and two blocks for Hubbard (15-4). Jessica Nicholas had 11 digs, four kills and Rachel Horton had four kills and two blocks for Champion (10-10). JVs: Hubbard 25-5, 25-12.

Lindsey Cerimele had 25 assists, Olivia Wood had eight kills and 11 digs and Courtney Aldridge had 14 kills and two blocks for LaBrae. For Niles, Amber Bellow had seven blocks and Ashley Ganyard five kills. JVs: LaBrae 25-13, 25-8.

Elaine Kelley had eight kills, two blocks and two aces, Kelly Musick had 11 points, 17 digs and three aces and Erin Kelligher had two aces and four digs for Lakeview (20-0).
For Newton Falls (13-6), Destiny Prusky had 21 kills and seven blocks, Lindsay Brockway had 25 assists and Tori Milani had two aces.

Jessica McGeehan had four aces, 14 assists and seven kills and Nevada Dobbs had two aces, six kills and six blocks for Beaver Local.

Clarissa Perkins had seven kills, three aces and two blocks, Lauren Ketterman had nine kills and one ace and Staci Medved had 42 digs for Leetonia (7-13).
