More charges likely in shooting

BOARDMAN

The police chief said additional charges likely will be filed in a Saturday shooting, although no one has been arrested in the crime.

Jerome G. Miller, 21, of Youngstown, was found semiconscious with gun- shot wounds to his face and stomach about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

He was transported from an apartment on Glenwood Avenue to St. Elizabeth Health Center, reports stated.

The 23-year-old woman who is the tenant of that apartment told police that she walked home, entered her apartment and saw two large men in the living room, one of whom had a gun.

The woman ran into her bedroom and crawled out the window, hearing a shot after she ran past the two men, according to reports.

Detectives found two 9mm shell casings on the living-room floor.

“I would expect additional charges in this case,” said Police Chief Jack Nichols.

The report has only a charge of felonious assault listed.
