The Trumbull County Farm Bureau and Bockelman’s Garden Center are extending the second annual Farm and Flea Market. Partial profits benefit the Trumbull County Farm Bureau scholarship fund. The market will continue 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Bockelman’s, 2869 state Route 193, just south of state Route 305, or two miles north of the airport.

Flu-shots clinic

Mahoning County District Board of Health will offer flu shots at a clinic from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Poland Township Administration Building, 3339 Dobbins Road. The shots are available for anyone 6 months and older. The cost for the flu shot is $25. No appointment is necessary. Those on traditional Medicare must bring their Medicare card so the cost of the shot can be billed. Those on Medicaid need to bring their Medicaid card.

Gunfire hits home

A South Side woman told police someone fired several shots into her home only a short distance from where her granddaughter was standing.

The 67-year-old Hilton Avenue woman told officers her 14-year-old granddaughter had been getting dressed in an upstairs bedroom at 6 p.m. Sunday when she heard the bullets come through the wall. Police found two bullet holes in the west wall and upper ceiling of the room. The girl was not injured.

Man gets probation

YOUNGSTOWN

A Coitsville man convicted of sexual battery will spend the next three years on probation. Dennis Kriebel, 48, Oak Street Extension, Coitsville, was sentenced Tuesday by Judge John Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Kriebel was indicted on a charge of rape after he forced a woman into sexual conduct in August 2008.

A city residence was hit by gunfire from a drive-by shooting.

Police said they were called to a house on Narcissa Street at 10:24 p.m. Monday. A resident there called police after the shootIng to tell them that two shots were fired from a small, gray hatchback with a loud muffler. It fled north with its lights off.

Police found a bullet hole under the kitchen window, a dent in the stove and the discharged shell lying on the floor 10 feet from the stove.
