Beagle to entertain on ship

Amanda Beagle, a Howland native and former Miss Ohio (2004), has been hired to be a headlining vocalist aboard Holland America Cruise Lines. She will be part of a repertory company in which she will sing classical musical theater and opera.

Beagle will perform aboard the ms Statendam from Dec. 10 until Aug. 10 for cruises that will go from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to San Diego and back; and to Alaska.

Beagle also will release a solo album, “Think of Me,” this month, which will be available at Jimmy’s on Belmont Avenue, Liberty, and the SMARTS center next to Powers Auditorium, Youngstown; and online at cdbaby.com.

“As I am leaving my family and friends and the community that I love to go on this adventure, I wanted to leave everyone with a little piece of me,” said Beagle, of her new album. The song list includes “Think of Me” from “Phantom of the Opera”; “Somewhere” from “West Side Story”; “Over the Rainbow,” Charlie Chaplin’s “Smile” and Billy Joel’s “And So it Goes.”
