Ryan to address U.S. Chamber issues at 11 a.m.
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, will host an 11 a.m. press conference today to discuss to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has been criticized by Democrats for using foreign money to fund political attack ads.
The Chamber has been critical of the Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act, legislation recently passed by the House to crack down on Chinese currency manipulation. Ryan has been a major proponent of the bill.
Ryan is not expected to address controversy surrounding the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber. Regional Chamber chief executive Tom Humphries has come under attack for co-hosting a fundraising event for Republican gubernatorial candidate John Kasich.
Mahoning Valley Democratic Party Chairman David Betras and Democratic fundraiser Bruce Zoldan have resigned from the organization in protest.
