WARREN

McFarland & Son Funeral Services is accepting new or gently worn winter coats for those in need. Coats can be dropped off Wednesday through Nov. 30 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 N. Park Ave.

All coats will be donated to the Warren Family Mission.

Halloween event

BAZETTA

The second annual Howl-O-Ween dog walk and costume parade will be Sunday at Mosquito Lake Dog Park, in Mosquito Creek State Park off state Route 305.

Registration and check-in are from noon to 1 p.m. The suggested donation is $10. The event includes a meet-and-greet, dog walk (costumes optional), costume parade and awards ceremony.

Participation includes entry in a “doggie” door-prize drawing. Contest categories are cutest, scariest, biggest, smallest, most original and looks most like owner. Food will be available.

Auction scheduled

CORTLAND

The Summer Enrichment Program for Handicapped Children of Trumbull County will have an auction Saturday at Candlelite Knolls, 2619 Hoagland Blackstub Road.

More than 400 items will be offered, including gift certificates, gift baskets, craft items and more. Also included is a bake sale. Refreshments will be available.

Doors open at 1 p.m. The drawing starts at 4 p.m.

Self-defense class

CANFIELD

Adult Education at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will offer a free, women’s self-defense class from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the career center.
