Youngstown schools to provide help with homework at libraries

Beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, the city schools, in collaboration with the branches of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, are providing certified teachers as Homework Helpers.
The teachers will be available after school at several library branches different days and times. The teachers are to help city school students in core subjects at every grade level.
Fliers will be posted at every district school and throughout the community.
Each library branch and the main library will have different subjects at different times and different days.
The sessions:
Help with math for sixth- through 12th-graders, 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the East branch, 430 Early Road; 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Newport branch, 3730 Market St.; 4 to 5:45 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Brownlee Woods, 4010 Sheridan Road; and 4 to 5:45 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the West branch, 2815 Mahoning Ave.
Help with social studies for sixth- through 12th- graders, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at East; 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Main branch, 305 Wick Ave.; 4 to 5:45 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Brownlee Woods; and 4 to 5:45 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at West.
