vSkate for the Heart, 5 p.m.: World-class skaters will perform to the music of Straight No Chaser, Ruben Studdard and David Archuleta at Covelli Centre; Ticketmaster.

vSoulages gallery, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: The Butler Institute of American Art’s Trumbull Branch opens an addition today that it built to house a wall-sized ceramic mural by French artist Pierre Soulages. The branch is at 9350 E. Market St., Howland.

“Boardwalk Empire” (9 p.m, HBO): On “Boardwalk Empire,” Jimmy (Michael Pitt) makes the rounds in Chicago with Al Capone (Stephen Graham) as the Prohibition-era shenanigans continue. And we’ll happily drink to that.

“Dexter” (9 p.m., Showtime): On “Dexter,” our titular character (Michael C. Hall) needs more time to hunt down his victims. So he does what any single parent/serial killer would do: Hire a nanny.

Vocal groups coming to Packard

Vocal groups The Vogues and Shades of Blue will come to Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W., at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4. The Vogues produced a number of hits in the ’60s, including “Five O’Clock World,” Special Angel” and “Turn Around Look At Me.” Two original members, lead Bill Burkette and tenor Hugh Geyer, are still in the group. The Shades of Blue are best known for their song “Oh How Happy.” Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 330-841-2931. They also will be available at the door.

The Youngstown Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, will present the musical show “We R Just Men,” featuring singer Kristina Terlecki and Harold Davis on harmonica, on Nov. 17 at noon. Others in the band include the Youngstown Symphony’s Jeff Bremmer on bass; Josh Terlecki, drums; and Alyssa Devere, guitar. Music will range from Hank Williams to the Eagles.
