Mount Union 28, Marietta 14

No. 2 Mount Union got a career-best 170 yards rushing from running back Jeremy Murray and 147 yards receiving from receiver Jasper Collins as the Purple Raiders won their 48th consecutive regular season game. Raiders quarterback Neal Seaman had his second career 300-yard passing game with 331 yards and a touchdown as he directed an offense that had 495 yards but also had three fumbles, all in Marietta territory in the second half. The Raiders held the Pioneers to 19 yards rushing and 226 total yards. The Raiders knocked out two Marietta quarterbacks with six sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles. Defensive end Lambert Budzinski had 12 tackles, a forced fumble and a season-best three sacks. Seaman tossed a 26-yard touchdown pass to tight end Kyle Miller on the Raiders’ first possession.
Bethany 47, Westminster 39
NEW WILMINGTON, PA.
Bethany (3-3, 2-1 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) snapped a 17-game losing streak at Westminster, winning in New Wilmington for the first time since 1940. Westminster (1-4, 0-3 PAC) lost its fourth straight, the team’s longest losing streak since it lost seven straight in 1999. Westminster set a new season high with 380 yards of total offense, but the Titans also surrendered a season-high 501 yards. The Titans opened their Homecoming game by taking a 10-0 lead, including a field goal on their opening drive, followed by a touchdown after Bethany fumbled away its first play from scrimmage. From there, it was all Bethany as the Bison scored touchdowns on seven of their next eight possessions. Bethany quarterback Matt Grimard completed 10 of 12 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing 19 times for 82 yards and three touchdowns. Bethany running back Eric Walker rushed 33 times for 174 yards and a touchdown. Walker also had a receiving touchdown. Westminster junior QB Shawn Lehocky threw for more than 200 yards for the second time this season as he completed 12 of 24 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing two interceptions. His favorite target was sophomore receiver Geno Pasquinelli (Salem), who set a career high for a second straight game by catching six passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. Westminster freshman running back Tyler Banks led his team with eight carries for 62 yards and a touchdown. Lehocky also rushed 12 times for 56 yards and a score. Chris Collins (Ursuline) caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Grimard to end the first half. Nico Irizarry (Ursuline) scored from 4 yards early in the fourth quarter to put the Bison on top 40-18. Lehocky threw touchdown passes to Pasquinelli from 22 yards and to Connor Kobis and freshman Austin Cope (East Palestine) each from 17 yards in the fourth quarter. Cope tied a career high with three catches and set a new career high with 53 receiving yards. Kobis’ touchdown catch was his only reception of the game.
Thomas More 31, Grove City 9
GROVE CITY, PA.
Grove City (2-3, 1-2 PAC) led 9-7 midway through the second quarter but the ninth-ranked Saints (5-0, 3-0) answered with 24 consecutive points. For Grove City, tailback Blaine Miller ran for 91 yards on 22 carries. Junior Ed Reith ran for 30 yards on four attempts, including a 15-yard gain on a fake punt. Reith also caught five passes for 44 yards. Zach Gross completed nine of 25 passes for 83 yards.
Wittenberg 49, Hiram 7
SPRINGFIELD
Wittenberg ended the game with two 100-yard rushers, led by Conner Warye who had 122 yards in 11 carries and two touchdowns. Corey Weber finished with 112 yards in 13 carries and a touchdown Ben Zoeller completed 14-of-28 passes for 212 yards and two scores. The Hiram offense was led by Brendan Rehor who completed 24-of-42 passes for 160 yards and had one touchdown and an interception. Glenn Campbell ended the day with a game-high 11 receptions and had 73 yards and a touchdown.
Waynesburg 55, Geneva 42
BEAVER FALLS, Pa.
Both the Waynesburg University offense and its leader, senior quarterback Brad Dawson, enjoyed their best performances of the season. Dawson dominated the Golden Tornado defense as Waynesburg (3-2) picked up a wild victory. Geneva fell to 3-3. Dawson hrew for a season-high 336 yards on 19-of-30 passing. He also rushed for 50 yards on six carries.
