Canfield defeats W. Geauga; Poland, Boardman triumph

Canfield

Sophomore Dylan Seybert scored the first two goals as the Canfield High boys soccer team defeated West Geauga, 6-2.

P.J. Stickle also had a pair of goals and an assist. Tony El-Hayek also had a goal and an assist. Joe Geiser contributed an assist.

Both West Geauga goals were scored on penalty kicks. Goalkeeper Dan Eppich West Geauga had 10 saves with the Wolverines taking 11 shots.

For Canfield, Mike Thomas made seven saves and Mike Wittmann had two. The Cardinals had 19 shots on goal.

Poland 1, Warren Harding 0

WARREN

Dan Hunt scored the goal and goalkeeper Alex Magni made eight saves for the Bulldogs.

Harding goalkeeper Charles Wargo made 12 saves.

JV: 1-1.

Boardman 7, Massillon Perry 2

Boardman

Zaire Morrison was responsible for four goals in a classic Federal League soccer bout.

The Spartans also got goals from Matthew Hovatich, Nico Dilanni and Cameron Broyles.

Boardman goalkeeper Chris Tokarski made four saves.

Perry’s goals were scored by Trent Fiegley and Marcus Feffer. Jared Purdy made nine saves.

North Lima

Jordan Baker scored the goal for the Raiders. Tyler Ausnehmer had the assist.

Goalkeeper Isaac Schuster made 10 saves.

Badger 9, Bristol 0

Kinsman

The Braves (14-0-1, 10-0-1 Northeast Athletic Conference) got a lot of offense out of the duo of Ben Meardith and Troy Elsea.

Meardith and Elseas scored two goals. Joining them were Kevin Casey, Allen Willey, Sean Dunfee, Mitchell Givens and Jason Lipps. Goalkeeper Tyler Lucy made one save.

The Panthers (5-6-3, 5-4-2) had six saves from goalkeeper Cody Urso, and three each from Joey Yanek and Lucan Champman.
