Beatitude House has announced the Ambassador Award and Sister Margaret Scheetz Achievement Award recipients to be honored at the agency’s annual Cornerstones Dinner next Sunday at St. Michael Church parish hall, 281 Glenview Road, Canfield.

Dia Haskins will receive The Ambassador Award, while Alma Ciriello has been named winner of the Sister Margaret Scheetz Achievement Award.

The Ambassador Award recognizes the achievements of one of the women and her willingness to speak publicly about her personal story.

Haskins never misses an opportunity to talk with employers, co-workers and the community about the positive effect Beatitude House has on her life, said Jennifer Roberts, Beatitude House development associate, in a press release.

Through the program, Haskins was able to secure employment as a dental assistant and provide permanent housing for her family.

Named in honor of Beatitude House founder, Sister Margaret Scheetz, the Achievement Award honors a woman who has shown the same characteristics of courage and tenacity Sister Margaret exhibited, Roberts said.

Ciriello came to the United States in search of a better life for her family. Since then, she has earned her General Educational Development diploma, obtained employment, gotten married, become a U.S. citizen and is attending Youngstown State University.

Beatitude House, with locations in Youngstown and Warren is sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters and serves homeless and disadvantaged families by creating homes, providing education and fostering healthy families. To learn more, visit the website www.beatitudehouse.com.
