Arvays celebrate anniversary on cruise, at dinner

YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arvay of Youngstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands. On Sept. 10 they continued the celebration during a dinner at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanoverton.

Hosts for the dinner were their daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and David Fox of Boardman.

The former Marie Ballas and Mr. Arvay were married on Sept. 10, 1960, at Transfiguration Church in Russellton, Pa. They are members of St. Christine Church.

Mr. Arvay served four years with the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 2000 from General Motors in Lordstown, where he worked as an electrician for 35 years. He is a member of Mahoning Sportsmen’s Association, the American Legion and Holy Name Society.

Mrs. Arvay is a homemaker.
