YSU LIVE | Penguins fall 34-29 in closing seconds
The YSU football team fell to North Dakota State 34-29 on Saturday at Stambaugh Stadium.
Penguin RB Adaris Bellamy made up for his goal line fumble at the end of the third quarter by scoring a 2-yard TD with 10:38 left in the fourth quarter. But WR Juilian Harrell was forced out on the conversion attempt after catching a pass from Kurt Hess. YSU went 80 yards in seven plays with Bellamy gaining the bulk of those yards.
NDSU had a chance to take a five-point lead but Ryan Jastram missed a 25-yard field goal wide right with 5:25 left, giving YSU the ball at its own 20.
The Penguins then drove down for a 38-yard field goal by Stephen Blose to take a 29-28 lead but the Bison scored on a 45-yard touchdown pass from Justin Howard to Jose Mohler on their next offensive play to take the lead with 34 seconds left.
