Phantoms fall for first time

KEARNEY, Neb. — Adam Berkle’s goal with 4:27 remaining brought the Youngstown Phantoms to within a goal of the Tri-City Storm on Saturday.

But despite pulling goalie Matt O’Connor in the final minute, the Phantoms were unable to tie the game and lost for the first time this season. Tucker Brockett’s empty-net goal gave the Storm a 5-3 victory.

Stuart Higgins and Dylan Margonari also scored for the Phantoms (3-1-0). O’Connor made 28 saves.

The Phantoms’ home opener will be Saturday against Green Bay at the Covelli Centre.
