Citizens group to meet, hear EEO speaker

YOUNGSTOWN

The Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association will have its monthly meeting Tuesday at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 920 Dryden Ave.

The meeting will begin promptly at 7 p.m.

Guest speaker will be Yvonne Mathis, contract compliance master, Equal Employment Opportunity for the City of Youngstown and president/CEO of the Mathis Group, LLC.

The meeting is open to all residents of Youngstown.

Multiple Sclerosis benefit scheduled

The Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency, 23 Lisbon St., Canfield, will have a Community Fun Night fundraiser Friday at Bob Evans, 7347 California Ave., behind Southern Park Mall.

From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Bob Evans will donate 15 percent of the cost of all meals to the agency.

Flyers are available at the agency or First Place Bank in Canfield and must be presented with payment for the funds to be allocated.

Heritage society to present award

YOUNGSTOWN

The Ethnic Heritage Society will present its first annual Ethnic Heritage Society Award to Harry Meshel, former political leader and Youngstown State University trustee, at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Hungary Parish Social Hall, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave.

Meshel, a member of the EHS, supports its mission to assist in the preservation of ethnic communities throughout the area.

He will be honored for his role in promoting awareness of the Mahoning Valley’s diversity.

The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
