Celebration of Life event to recognize heroic response to house fire

A dinner, Celebration of Life, is scheduled from 4 to 6:30 p.m. next Saturday at Harvesters International Services Inc., 2141 Market St., for Joel C. Imler and Khinya, Khalil, T. Rodney and Krisean Ollie and family. The event will mark Imler’s action of saving the four children from their burning Willis Avenue house Oct. 16, 2009.

Imler received first-, second- and third-degree burns and was hospitalized at Akron Burn Center. Those attending will be community members and friends who were instrumental in encouraging both families during Imler’s recuperation and the family’s transition in finding a home. Imler also will introduce a fire-relief-assistance project to help victims of house fires.
