Canfield soccer team beats Poland

Rivals Canfield and Poland battled it out in boys varsity soccer action Sept. 30.

The Cardinals kept Bulldogs’ goalie Alex Magni busy by peppering him with 24 shots. In the end, the Cards outscored Poland 2-1 to win the game and remain undefeated on the season.

Mike DeRose and PJ Stickle scored for Canfield. Tony El-Hayek assisted on the first goal and Tommy Yankush on the second.

Canfield goalie Mike Thomas had four saves.

Poland tallied seven shots on goal in the game, with one finding the back of the net. Dan Hunt scored the Bulldogs’ goal off an assist from Kevin Krumpak.

In goal, Magni had 12 saves for the Bulldogs.

In the junior varsity game, Canfield won 4-1 to stay unbeaten.
