Baptist convention planned

Ohio State Baptist Convention, headquartered at Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will host its annual session Tuesday through Friday at Everlasting Baptist Church, 579 Eddy Road, Cleveland.

The theme is “Bridging the Gap” from Isaiah 58:12.

Dr. WC Thomas, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dayton, will be guest preacher at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

The schedule is:

Tuesday, opening session at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, “True Worship” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and the women’s president hour at noon. Colors are white with black all day.

Thursday, “Church Growth” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and presidential luncheon with Dr. John Williams of Eastern Star Baptist Church as guest speaker. Tickets are $35.

Friday, preach-a-thon from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Drs. Avan Odom and Rick Sherrer, Pastor Edward Cryer and the Rev. John Jones. The Rev. Michael H. Harrison, pastor of Union Baptist and convention president, will speak at 7 p.m. The church choir will sing.
