Trumbull County investigators honored

Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins has honored investigators for their work in securing convictions over the past year of four murderers and one accomplice in the deaths of four people.

The honors were given at Watkins’ annual meeting of the county Homicide Investigation and Prosecution Unit, which was formed in 1984.

Warren detectives Wayne Mackey and Michael Stabile, along with Sgt. John Yuricek and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation scientist Brenda Girardi, were commended for their work in the convictions of Eugene Henderson and Eugene Cumberbatch for their role in the murders of Marvin Chaney and Lloyd McCoy Jr. of Warren in 2009.

Howland Police Chief Paul Monroe, Capt. Frank Dillon, Detective Allan Sprockett and Patrolman Nick Roberts, along with special agent Ed Carlini of BCI, were commended for their work in the convictions of Michael Ahladis and Oryan Miller in the murder of Cameron Murray of Howland in 2008.

Weathersfield Township Police Chief Joseph Consiglio and Capt. Mike Naples, along with Niles Police Chief Bruce Simeone and Detective Ron Wright of the Niles Police Department, were commended for their work on the conviction of Alan Francis in the murder of John Crocker in 2005.

Watkins also commended Marcia Tiger, who is retiring after 35 years with the Trumbull County Children Services Board, the last four as executive director.
