Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre will open its season with “The Brementown Musicians” at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and Oct. 16, in the theater’s Moyer Room.

Adapted from a Brothers Grimm tale by playwright Claudia Haas, “Brementown” tells the story of four woebegone animals who are being thrown out by their owners because they are too old. The animals know they need to get new jobs, and after considering several types of employment, they decide to travel to nearby Brementown to become musicians.

Along the way, they find friendship, foil a gang of robbers and arrive at a happily- ever-after ending. The production uses the help of the audience throughout the play.

“Brementown” is directed by Terri Wilkes and Dylan White. The set design is by Jim Lybarger and John Pecano, with costumes by Cherie Stebner. Dorene White serves as stage manager. The cast includes Nick Narkum, Molly Galano, Miranda Canacci, Maddie Rhoads, Brianna Thompson, Theresa Leonard, Grace Offerdahl, Silina Rivera, Jessie Narkum, Andrew Brockway and Mayson Jenkins.

Admission is $5 for children and $7 for adults. For more information and reservations, call the box office at 330-788-8739.
